St. Joseph's Carnival
Here's a great example of the special effects you can get with digital photography. These photos are night views we took of the rides.
We used a slow shutter speed to get the desired effect.
First Spring Carnival
Saint Joseph's Catholic Church holds the first carnival in the spring in Shelton.
This year in 2006, the St Joseph's Carnival is being held May 23rd thru May 27th so mark your calendars!
St. Joseph's is located near downtown, and you can feel the excitement in the air.
It means spring is really here.
This amusement ride in this first picture is called the "Wheel of Fortune."
We used the bulb setting on the camera, which sets it at a slow shutter speed. You can also take pictures of lightning using the bulb setting.
Flying Saucer?
The Saint Joseph's carnival lasts for a week, and because we live close by, we were there every night taking pictures.
There are the traditional carnival games, food and rides galore. See also the Shelton Day Carnival.
This lower picture is of the "Scrambler" amusement ride. This picture kind of looks like a flying saucer!
